Next Up…… Artwiz fonts

From when I was using Fluxbox and looked at some screenshots i sort of fell for these fonts. Yes they are on the small side BUT IMO dem still look good. Here are the few steps I ran to enable them.

sudo apt-get install xfonts-artwiz
sudo ln -s /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc/ /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/artwiz
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig
cd /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/artwiz
sudo mkfontdir
sudo xset fp+ /usr/share/fonts/type1/gsfonts/artwiz
xset fp rehash

Restart X then you should have access to the new spiffy fonts. Keep in mind if ur not sure what the fonts look like you you can do

xfontsel

Well are are 2 pics to show you guys what i’m using now.. the first pic is of gnome-terminal (resource hog) and the other is mrxvt.

  1. its actualy kind of an annoying font.. reason.. hard to read.. boo to artwiz default rools u.

  2. I must say I am thinking the same thing…. at quick glance i liked it. But when u have to guess to often on what a letter is… it’s time to go back, I am looking for a better terminal font though.

I’ll stick with artwiz fonts for a little while until it gets on my nerves. but gnome-terminal is GONE!!

  3. a terminal is a terminal.. they all do the same thing.. so i dont think i’m gonna do aterm at all.

  4. As them say… to each hiw own. Yea I have a 1GB memory but i want to save it it for something more important. You try gnome-terminal on a not so powerful machine and u’lll see what i’m talking about.
